About the role:
We seek an enthusiastic individual with a strong background in the Australian turf industry or agriculture/farming to join our team as a Turf Production Leader. In this full-time role, you will actively lead and organise team members to ensure the production of high-quality turf.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Assist with growing and maintaining turf for production.
• Coordinate harvesting schedules to achieve production targets.
• Conduct pre-operational checks and routine maintenance on turf machinery to ensure optimal performance.
• Adhere to the Australian Turf Accreditation Program AusGAP.
• Monitor and manage irrigation systems.
• Apply chemicals and fertilisers in accordance with all safety requirements.
• Identify and address issues related to turf quality.

Skills and Experience:

• Turf production or Certificate III in Sports Turf Management (or currently completing studies in this field).
• Proficient in tractor driving.
• Experience in operating Trimax / Saliba gang mowers.
• Experience in chemical and fertiliser applications in broad-field applications.
• Proficient in operating cylinder mowers.
• Possess a valid Driver’s License and Forklift License.
• Mechanical knowledge is an advantage.

Location:
Harden Park Lawns, conveniently located just a short 15-minute drive south of Cairns, is currently seeking a dedicated and skilled individual to join our team as a Truck Driver and Turf Production team member. This unique opportunity allows you to fulfil a dual role within our company.

Total Salary:
Total Salary Package ranges, depending on experience (including Super and Car), from $65k to $80k

As a Truck Driver and Turf Production team member, your primary responsibility will be to ensure timely turf deliveries in the local Cairns area. Additionally, you will contribute to the turf production crew. We value candidates who pay attention to detail, provide exceptional customer service, and possess strong organisational skills.

To be considered for this position, you need to meet the following requirements:

1. Hold a current HR driver’s license with relevant experience in this class.
2. Hold a current Forklift license with relevant experience in this class.
3. Have the ability to load and unload palletised turf using a forklift efficiently.
4. Demonstrate proficiency in managing scheduled deliveries.
5. Maintain a clean and presentable appearance.
6. Possess excellent communication skills.
7. Show dedication to workplace health and safety.
8. Have basic mechanical skills.
9. Be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
10. Familiarity with local areas is preferred but not mandatory.

In addition to your driving duties, you will actively contribute to various essential tasks, including general machinery maintenance, mowing, harvesting, irrigation setup, and field preparation. Safety is of utmost importance, so it is imperative to adhere to safety guidelines and protocols. This is a fast-paced role within a dynamic farm-based environment where teamwork is highly valued.

Preference will be given to applicants with a good driving record, and a pre-employment medical check and driver evaluation will be required. Remuneration will be based on your skills and experience, with the possibility of negotiation.
